Mind's Eye: Making Art Work

Why do some works of art have the ability to move us to tears or laughter?  Are there artistic universals that evoke the essential spirit of an image?  If so, what are these  "laws of aesthetics"?  Do they span cultural boundaries and species and what do they have in common?  Once the artist knows how the brain see things, what  artistic devices can be used to enhance visual perception and viewer excitement? This presentation will explore the illusions that lead to artistic truth.  Admission is free, but registration is required.
